Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist

Duties

• Serves as the Material Management Branch Chief and represents DLA as the Weapons Support Supply Chain Manager at an industrial site.
• Provides efficient material management support to assigned military service production groups.
• Oversees material management and storage plans for both DLA and non-DLA managed items.
• Acts as a customer advocate and liaison, coordinating material supportability issues and representing customers in internal DLA meetings.
• Conducts or directs research and analysis to evaluate customer supportability related to order fulfillment.
• Leads the development and implementation of new approaches and improvements to material management processes within the Branch’s responsibility.

  Experience:
  
  One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
  
  Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
• Analyzes and interprets inventory and material management laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure proper processes and logistical compliance.
• Plans and reviews inventory processes, assigning and evaluating work and resolving department issues.
• Coordinates and resolves complex material supportability issues with other organizations.
• Evaluates operations and recommends improvements to maintain effective and efficient material support to customers.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Acquisition Workforce:
Position requires DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics (L), Advanced Level Certification within required time frames. Selectee must also achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2-years.
