The Accounts Payable Supervisor assists the Controller with daily accounts payable operations of the casinos, convenience stores and hotel locations, safeguarding the assets, and preparing all accounts payable reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and NIGC.
Work Schedule- Requires morning, afternoon and evenings. Monday through Friday, some weekends
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval
- Oversee the accounts payable operations for all Casino, Convenient Store and Hotel locations
- Collaborate with Procurement department to optimize and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Perform monthly reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close process
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over accounts payable transactions and financial reporting
- Develop and document accounts payable processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Manage and develop accounts payable staff
- Additional duties as necessary
- Must exhibit STAR treatment to all customers and co-workers
Job Requirements
- Sit and/or stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break
- Requires bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and pulling
- Move objects up to and exceeding 25 lbs. with reasonable accommodations
- Office environment with some casino floor environment
- 10+ years of overall combined accounting experience
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with supervising and developing staff
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Experience with implementation of software and conversion to streamline electronic payment process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to qualify and maintain a Cheyenne
- Arapaho Gaming License
