Maintenance Technician

Established in 1999, Republic Paperboard Company occupies a 70-acre site in the industrial park in Lawton, Oklahoma. Republic Paperboard's core business is manufacturing the face and back paper used to produce gypsum wallboard. We also manufacture brown and white bag papers as well as high-performance linerboard products used in the manufacture of boxes.

Responsibility included:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on Pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Works with imaint to look up parts list on equipment for repair, fills out store stock request for parts, and writes work order for maintenance tracking of cost.

Works 12 hour-shift schedule when required.
