Position Summary
The Monoclonal Antibody (mAb) Manufacturing Technician will operate in a cGMP‑regulated manufacturing laboratory, executing upstream and/or downstream bioprocess operations that support large‑scale mAb production. Responsibilities include scale‑up of mammalian cell culture, inoculation, expansion, bioreactor setup/monitoring (pH, DO, temperature), aseptic technique in cleanroom environments, and downstream purification operations such as clarification/centrifugation, chromatography, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration. The role must ensure accurate, timely, and complete process documentation (batch records, logbooks, electronic entries) to maintain cGMP compliance.
Hours1st Shift, Monday – Friday 7:15a.m. – 3:45p.m.; rotating weekends required. Overtime and holidays may be required.
Position Responsibilities- Perform laboratory processes using aseptic technique in cleanroom environments.
- Inoculate, expand, and monitor mammalian cell cultures in flasks and single‑use bioreactors.
- Set, control, and monitor key parameters (pH, DO, agitation, temperature).
- Execute downstream purification operations, including clarification/centrifugation, chromatography, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration.
- Perform in‑process sampling and record results.
- Assemble, prepare, and stage lab/production equipment.
- Operate bioreactors, isolator glove boxes, CIP/SIP, and other automated systems.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Identify and upscale issues and assist with basic troubleshooting.
- Complete accurate, timely batch record, logbook, and electronic entries following cGMP and data‑integrity standards.
- Learn, follow, and maintain compliance with SOPs, safety policies, and PPE requirements.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and proactive risk identification; suggest process improvements.
- Dispense and complete production orders in SAP inventory system; support inventory accuracy and material traceability.
- Support production execution, contribute to deviation investigations, change controls, and corrective/preventive actions as required.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA/QC, Engineering, GMT, and VMRD to meet production goals and timelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BS in biological sciences preferred.
- Preference given to applicants with relevant experience in biological production and/or aseptic manufacturing.
- Functional skills: Read and follow written directions, complete basic calculations, think critically and take initiative, work well in a team environment, work independently when needed, communicate and collaborate effectively.
- Technical skills: Basic mechanical skills, troubleshooting ability, working knowledge of the metric system, basic Microsoft applications and computer skills, familiarity with mammalian cell culture practices and techniques, fundamental understanding of bioreactors/fermenters or downstream purification techniques, knowledge of biological and chemical principles, experience with batch‑record investigations, experience in a regulated environment.
Position Requirements

- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Work in cleanroom/production areas with temperature variation, odors, noise, live steam, and exposure to caustic/hazardous chemicals.
