13-Week CVICU Travel Nurse Assignment
Location: Oklahoma
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a busy, fast-paced open ICU. This unit consists of multiple specialties: Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, CVICU, and Neuro ICU. You will provide critical care across a variety of patient populations. In the event that the helicopter cannot fly, you will be asked to care for pediatric patients.
The ICU is split into two sections: 14 beds in one unit and 12 beds in another. Patient placement is determined based on bed availability, not by the reason for admission, so flexibility in patient care needs is required.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-level care for critically ill patients across multiple specialties (Medical, Surgical, CVICU, Neuro ICU).
- Manage patient care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient management.
- Follow all safety and protocol guidelines for adult and pediatric care.
- Assist in managing the unit's workflow, patient assignments, and potential float to other areas if census is low (CVCU or ED).
- Standard ICU ratio: 1:2 (Occasional 1:3 depending on acuity).
- Low census may result in floating to CVCU (ratio 1:4) or to ED to assist with hold patients.
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- Oklahoma State License required.
- Compact License is allowed.
