DEFINITION:
As the Clinical Team Lead, the LPN is responsible to oversee the clinical support staff to include work allocation, general performance, workflow efficiency, competency and accountability. Is responsible for new employee training and orientation. Is responsible to ensure Joint Commission compliance for the clinic. Performs as the primary liaison with the physicians to improve communication between the hospital Obstetrics unit and the clinic.
Will attend meetings and participate in performance improvement efforts at both the clinic and department level.
The Clinical Team Lead will fill in as a float nurse, performing the basic clinic LPN duties when needed. As a clinic staff nurse, the LPN is accountable for delivery of patient care in the clinic during office hours. The LPN is responsible for: practicing within the LPN scope of practice managing any assigned personnel and promoting collaboration among the disciplines.
The LPN is accountable to the Physician Supervisor, Department Director, patient and family for all nursing behavior. Patient population includes: all age groups to include children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Authorized to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Two to four years physician’s office nursing experience, preferably with experience in obstetric and gynecology patient care.
