Position Overview and Responsibilities
The James Lab is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to contribute to projects designed to deconstruct the drivers of autoimmune disease at the molecular level in both preclinical and advanced disease states. The lab conducts studies characterizing the immune cells and their responses against pathogens and autoreactive responses at the cellular and tissue levels using high dimensional profiling.
- Performing both basic and advanced cell and molecular biology techniques.
- Conducting biomarker assays including Luminex and Olink as well as ELISAs and Western blotting.
- Applying single cell techniques including multi‑parameter flow cytometry.
- Utilizing high dimensional mass cytometry (CyTOF) and imaging mass cytometry Hyperion.
- Supporting and executing single cell sequencing workflows including transcriptomics, proteomics, and immune repertoire analysis.
- Working with and maintaining 10X Genomics platforms for single cell applications.
- Highly organized and meticulous to ensure accuracy of data collection and analyses.
- Willingness to learn new analytic approaches and initiative to solve problems.
- Basic knowledge of routine technical functional procedures and basic computer skills, including knowledge of internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented and able to work as a team player with the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills are required.
- Must be professional, team oriented, and personable.
- Strong GPA and interest in biomedical research.
- Hands on experience with data analyses highly preferred.

- Familiarity with Windows Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Experience with robotics image analysis such as ImageJ, Halo, Visiopharm, data analytics, and data visualization using R and Python or other software such as Prism is preferred.
Flexible full or part‑time hours typically Monday through Friday between 8:30AM to 5PM. Summer positions typically run from the beginning of June to the end of July.
