We are looking for a dedicated individual to serve as Assistant Front‑End Manager.
Primary Responsibilities- Greet and supervise customers, respond to inquiries, and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
- Initiate and/or make recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of all front‑end personnel.
- Orient, train, and retrain new front‑end associates.
- Develop a weekly labor schedule for all front‑end employees, with approval from the store manager.
- Ensure safety of staff and customers by following store safety rules and reporting hazards.
- Bag customer purchases quickly and correctly.
- Operate electronic cash register, scanner, scale, and intercom system.
- Monitor front‑end service, call for additional help, and open express lanes as needed.
- Provide cash handling, approve checks, refunds, and voids.
- Supervise checkout, bagging, and manage bagged purchases from store to customer car.
- Return “go‑backs” to appropriate locations, refill bag‑stand areas, and collect carts from parking lot.
- Follow store opening and closing accounting procedures.
- Keep front‑end personnel updated on new produce items, policies, and procedures.
- Prevent loss by ensuring cashiers remove items from bottom of cart, handle products carefully, and complete price‑checks on not‑on‑file items.
- Identify produce, count money accurately, and process coupons, EBT, credit/debit cards, charge sales, and checks.
- Make judgments concerning employee scheduling, product ordering, merchandising plans, and sales/promotions.
- Model teamwork and STAR Customer Service with strong interpersonal communication.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Prior cashier experience.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Perform cashier duties while supporting the work crew or training program.
- Work on tile or concrete for up to 8 hours.
- Maintain awareness of bag stands, cases, shelves, product descriptions, and store signage.
Work inside the store with transitions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust from opening and closing of entrance/exit doors.
