Full Time, Responsibilities
- Will submit work orders for maintenance of shelter to maintain the buildings integrity and upkeep.
- Responsible for maintaining monthly schedule of events for residents.
- Must attempt contact with each resident within 5 business days of intake into shelter to complete individual service plan.
- Make referrals to community agencies and programs when applicable to include documentation of such services.
- Conduct initial evaluation to verify and document individual or family eligibility for ESG services.
- Collect and maintain all ESG paperwork in client files needed to meet HUD requirements.
- Conduct housing inspections for ESG participants.
- Provide at least once-a-month contact with each ESG program participant to monitor any barriers encountered by individual/family in obtaining or maintaining employment and/or housing.
- Ensure monthly reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner for compliance with funders requirements.
- Input client data into Empower database or HMIS in a timely manner.
- Will provide crisis intervention over the phone and face to face and assist with crisis calls.
- Provide life skills training to clients in conjunction with other staff persons.
- Provide a forum where clients can air grievances or complaints without retaliation, for the purpose of conflict resolution and effective communication.
- Provide para-professional counseling when counselors are unavailable.
- Will assist client advocates in all their job responsibilities including sexual assault services and court advocacy, when necessary. This is to include being part of the Sexual Assault Response Team.
- Responsible for final review of client files and making sure information contained is complete, accurate and adheres to AG regulations.
- Responsible for attending all conferences, in-service training, and workshops to increase knowledge of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault issues.
- Must adhere to all policy, procedure, and operations manuals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
- Assist with Client Advocate shift coverage when necessary.
- Provide educational workshops and presentations to the community about the agency and program services.
- Participate in events to educate community about DVSA and stalking.
- Responsible for completing the required minimum number of training hours per year (24 hours/full-time; 12 hours/part-time).
- Other duties as required by program needs.
- Understands and applies the agency policies and procedures (i.e. dress code and appearance, adherence to work schedules, completion of trainings, etc.).
- Punctually attends meetings and trainings. Completes assigned trainings in adequate time frames and obtains the minimum number of training hours required within the calendar year.
- Demonstrates dependability by consistently working scheduled shifts and following proper procedures when unable to work scheduled shifts.
- Displays cultural competency by valuing the fundamental rights, dignity, and self-worth of all people including respecting age, culture, disability, ethnicity, race, religion/spirituality, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, socioeconomic status, or any basis proscribed by law.
- Interacts with others in a professional manner and effectively navigates interpersonal differences. Maintains appropriate boundaries with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
- Demonstrates the ability to consult or seek supervision regarding concerns or issues and communicates effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Displays professionalism and ability to work as part of a team.
- Identifies potential safety issues and takes measures to reduce risks and protect clients and staff.
- Understanding of trauma-informed services and sensitivity to the unique circumstances to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Exhibits interaction with each new client for a minimum of five minutes to introduce yourself and the program to discuss services and case management needs.
- Shows ability to work collaboratively with residents and non-residents in identifying supports, challenges, and service needs to connect clients to community resources.
- Develops ongoing referral relationships with health, legal, housing, and other social service providers.
- Demonstrates ability to audit client records to ensure accurate billing and data entry in a timely manner.
- Exercises good judgement and handles sensitive information confidentially.
