The position delivers to all types of customers including Food service. The driver operates the delivery vehicle and delivers product to stores. Responsibilities include ongoing rotating and stocking of product on store shelves, displays, coolers, and vending equipment. Builds small displays and sets up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. Generates invoices and is responsible for daily settlement of cash and charges.
Interacts with store management and receiving personnel for load acceptance as required. This role requires lifting and loading cases (20–45 pounds) repeatedly, and pushing/pulling with 40–150 pounds of force. It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending during delivery and merchandising activities. Unloads pallets from the delivery vehicle with an electronic pallet jack or two-wheel hand truck and places products in the designated backroom area.
Accountabilities
- Deliver product and execute all promotions
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of the shift
- Merchandise all accounts to local standards
- Establish positive working relationships with primary contacts at each account
- 21 years or older
- Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
- Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
Note:
In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.
- Operating trucks requiring a valid U.S. CDL license (e.g., driving forwards/backwards, and maneuvering in tight spaces)
- Adhering to all DOT regulations (e.g., reading and understanding documentation, maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
- Merchandising products (filling shelves, building displays, rotating stock, cleaning shelves, and addressing out-of-stocks and expired products)
- Using equipment to haul loads (e.g., pallet jacks, dock plates, load bars, and straps)
- Operating pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, and related equipment
- Documenting DOT regulations (e.g., maintaining medical cards and related documentation)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Because this role involves regular field work away from a Company location and interaction with customers and the public, a conditional offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre‑employment background check and drug screening, in compliance with applicable laws.
