About the Role
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Controller to lead and manage the accounting and financial operations of our trailer sales company across three Utah locations. This is a hands-on role where the right candidate will not only oversee but also actively participate in all accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a complete understanding of all systems and workflows.
This position will require multi-location oversight.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the company’s accounting records, books, and financial systems.
- Engage directly in daily accounting activities to gain deep insight into every process, including accounts payable, receivable, deal closings, and inventory management.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and ensure financial statements are timely and accurate.
- Implement and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures.
- Provide guidance to the accounting team by modeling best practices before delegating responsibilities.
- Collaborate with ownership and leadership on financial reporting and performance analysis.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as a Controller (required).
- Proven track record managing a full set of books in a timely, clean, and efficient manner. If you do not have this experience, you will not be a good fit for this role or for the expectations of ownership.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits, credits, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated experience implementing accounting process improvements and managing accounting teams.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership in your work.
Compensation:
Starting at $150,000+, with final compensation to be negotiated based on experience, expertise, and overall fit.
