Location:
Center for Continuing Education – Layton, UT (Off‑campus centers include Clearfield, West Center (Roy), Community Education Center (Ogden, Spanish speaking), WSU Station Park (Farmington)).
Work Schedule:
10–20 hours per week, 12 months per year; weekdays 7:00 am‑10:00 pm, some Saturdays, Sundays off; location includes Hurst/Lindquist Hall for IVC classes.
Pay: $12.00 per hour.
Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Assistant is a versatile role encompassing a variety of responsibilities. Key duties include:
- Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk, handling incoming and outgoing phone calls with professionalism and courtesy.
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues and adapt quickly to new tasks and systems.
- Provide instruction to staff and students and manage Zoom and other video‑conferencing solutions.
- Travel to different locations as needed for operational tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required and adapt based on personal experience and organizational needs.
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to perform local errands (mileage reimbursed).
Qualifications Required- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle.
- Past customer service experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
Bending body downward and forward at the waist; bending legs at the knee; moving on hands and knees or hands and feet; extending hands and arms; operating equipment that requires exertion; grasping, applying pressure, feeling, conveying detailed instructions; moving to accomplish tasks over long distances or between work sites.
Physical RequirementsLight work:
Exert up to 20 lbs occasionally, 10 lbs frequently, negligible force constantly. Medium work:
Exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly.
Color, depth perception, field of vision sufficient for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, using a computer terminal, extensive reading.
ConditionsNone. Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions typical of office or administrative work.
