Project Engineer - Program Management

Janicki Industries is a private and family-owned business based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah facility. The Layton Utah facility specializes in machining the largest most complex structures built from carbon fiber composites and aluminum for the aerospace and space exploration markets. At Janicki, we work on complex parts and assemblies for aerospace and space exploration markets. We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.

Project Engineers with Project Management experience are responsible for the execution of highly complex jobs, from cradle-to-grave. Within this role, you will develop, manage, and coordinate complex aerospace projects in an external-facing position. You will be a part of a value-stream team, working side-by-side with Operations and our technical experts to solve our Customer’s most challenging projects. • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in project development of manufacturing plans, schedules, and quality plans.
• Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
• Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are met.
• Complete Inspection Plans in conjunction with Project Planning and in coordination with Project Management.
• Verify compliance to codes, standards and customer contracts.
• Perform in process and final inspections on customer ordered projects as necessary.
• Organize and monitor Corrective Actions, assist to evaluate and determine Root Cause and Corrective Action Plans.
• Must be able to comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices.
• Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based upon customer process specifications and engineering drawings.
• Maintains heightened awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines.
• Facilitates communication and consultation with Program Management, Operations, QA and HR.
• Assists in the execution of a project plan, including the development of Work Orders, materials procurement and organization, preparation of schedules and budgets, and various other project activities.

• Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets.
• Works directly with the customer to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, communicates or presents to customer on project status or health.
• Actively engages customers and internal teams to ensure progress on all stages of project lifecycle.
• Communicates, consults with, and participates in design and manufacturing support activities.
• Facilitates communication and consultation with production; oversees manufacturing in collaboration with project engineers.
• Completes and understands all quality requirements for projects.
