Staff Engineer , II or Senior

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs a variety of professional, technical and complex duties as needed to assist in coordinating and participating in the design, development and construction of City infrastructure. Serves as an engineering project leader or manager in performing administrative and technical functions.

• Promotes and follows the City's mission statement, values and expectations.
• Conduct engineering division review and approval of commercial and residential project plans and construction drawings during development review process.
• Prepare preliminary and final construction plans and specifications for City capital improvement projects.
• Manage construction projects from planning to completion, overseeing coordination, budgeting, invoicing and compliance.
• Coordinate a variety of operations and activities undertaken by the Engineering Division related to infrastructure analysis and public works systems. Emphasis on drainage design and storm water management, construction, and maintenance and municipal engineering.
• Manages the City s Storm Water Management Program (SWMP).
• Oversees MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems) permit.
• Manages the flood plain within the City s limits.
• Represent the City to Federal, State, County, and local jurisdictions.
• Prepare various reports, projections, and evaluations as required.
• Assists with various aspects of project management and scheduling for assigned capital improvement projects.
• Assist in maintaining and updating City maps and specifications.
• Provides miscellaneous drafting services to other departments as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.

Staff Engineer I $39.00 - $54.17

• Graduation from college with a bachelor s degree in civil engineering
• Two (2) years experience provided through internships or similar work setting
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Staff Engineer II $40.95 - $57.33

• Graduation from college with a bachelor s degree in civil engineering
• AND
• Four (4) years of experience in civil engineering design and/or construction with progressively increasing responsibilities
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Senior Staff Engineer $42.99 - $60.19

• Graduation from college with a bachelor s degree in civil engineering
• AND
• Six (6) years of experience in civil engineering design and/or construction with progressively increasing responsibilities
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
