Air Force Civilian Service is currently seeking a full‑time Configuration Management Specialist to work in the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah.
This position (960762) is an NH‑301‑03 which has a 2026 salary range of $89,508 – $138,370.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Configuration Management Specialist for the Minuteman III (MMIII) Engineering Branch, Systems Engineering Section.
As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will support Program Teams with acquisition and sustainment activities for the MMIII Weapon System. In this role, you will advise Program Teams in MMIII Configuration Management processes, provide Configuration Management support in systems engineering milestone events, and provide documentation of changes to the MMIII weapon system technical baseline.
Duties- Documenting weapon system baseline changes.
- Managing Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and Drawings.
- Supporting programs with preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Performing functional and configuration audits of design changes.
- Supporting MMIII priority acquisition and sustainment efforts.
- Ensuring configuration discipline for engineering change processes.
- Experience with Air Force programs or configuration management processes preferred.
- Experience supporting systems engineering processes is desirable.
- U.S. CITIZENSHIP
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance and will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations.
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
