Position
Principal Systems Engineer for Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) – Northrop Grumman Defense Systems.
Location:
Roy, Utah. Travel: 25% of time. Relocation assistance may be available.
Clearance required:
Secret (at start). U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval. Standard work schedule is 9/80.
The selected candidate will work for the Strategic Deterrent Systems Flight Systems Futures organization focusing on hypersonic re‑entry and advanced payloads. The role emphasizes trajectory analysis and generation for hypersonic systems to support testing, development, and analysis.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with a master’s degree, or 1 year with a PhD.
- US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret clearance at the time of application, current, and within scope, with investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
- Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis of aerospace vehicles, including hypersonic platforms.
- Experience generating 6‑DoF trajectories for hypersonic platforms.
- Experience in trajectory analysis for boost‑phase ascent.
- History of analysis and visualization of data.
- Programming experience with C++, MATLAB, Python, or Fortran.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance at the time of application.
- Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, and Python.
- Experience using TAOS to model trajectories.
- Experience using AFSIM for mission‑level simulations.
- Experience using STK for red/blue modelling.

The salary range for this position is $98,400.00 – $, subject to factors such as scope, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and other incentives. The role is contingent upon contract award.
