Automation Engineer

Dorsett Controls, a leader in electrical control systems, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to design and implement automation solutions that enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability in industrial settings. Our focus is on developing innovative electrical and control systems for a variety of industries. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring they meet customer and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated systems and control strategies tailored to our clients' needs.
• Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to identify project specifications and requirements.
• Program, simulate, and test automated machinery and processes to ensure they function according to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automation technology and innovations to suggest upgrades and increased efficiencies.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including system designs, user manuals, and project reports for both internal and client use.

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills in PLC (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIProficient in CAD software for designing automated systems
• Knowledge of robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications in the industrial sector
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
