The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Financial Management Specialist (NH-0501-03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) – 448th Supply Chain Management Wing, on Hill AFB in Layton, UT. This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits.

In this position you will serve as a DoD Financial Management Specialist providing various financial management functions involving the formulation, justification and or execution of budgets and accounting support for organizations, programs, or projects, Responsible for supporting the 448th SCMW strategic goals, objectives and deadlines. The incumbent has responsibility for managing and/or participating in planning, directing, integrating and executing all aspects of assigned programs.

The organizational goals or objectives of this position are:
To provide administrative, accounting and financial services, financial advice and decision support by managing the 448th SCMW/FM financial activities. Consistently apply financial management policies, procedures, and processes across responsible areas of the enterprise. Exercises surveillance over organizational projects/programs and financial management techniques and controls.

  • Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
  • Must safeguard classified or sensitive financial-related information and/or files.
  • The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1559d. Incumbent shall comply with requirements of this certification program.

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of commonly used financial/accounting methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, processes and computer systems related to all aspects of financial management program execution.
  • Knowledge of missions, functions, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources pertinent to installation financial programs/organizations.
  • Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of financial management, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or related data.
  • Knowledge of automated data processing concepts and systems capabilities to accomplish financial/accounting tasks.
  • Ability to apply advanced analytical methods and techniques to financial/accounting work.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare comparative assessments, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve/troubleshoot discrepancies and disconnects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to justify, defend, present, and/or advise on financial/accounting processes/actions and in responding to work related problems and questions dealing with team members, using activities, other Wings, and ALCs, Commanders, HQ AFMC and other DoD organizations.
