The Junior Recruiter supports the full cycle recruiting process for craft labor in industrial construction environments. This role focuses on candidate sourcing, screening, dispatching, onboarding coordination, and ensuring employees are prepared for rapid mobilization to project sites. The Junior Recruiter works closely with senior recruiters, recruiting admins, and safety teams to maintain strong staffing pipelines for outages, shutdowns, new construction, and maintenance projects
Position Responsibilities:- Source and screen applicants for trades such as ironworkers, pipe fitters, welders, millwrights, equipment operators, laborers, and other field positions.
- Conduct phone screens to verify experience, certifications, availability, and site-readiness.
- Maintain communication with active candidates regarding start dates, travel logistics, and project assignments.
- Maintain accurate notes and status updates in the manpower database.
- Primary responsibility: dispatch employees to job sites, ensuring all information is accurate and communicated clearly to both employees and field leadership.
- Verify availability, pay rate, per diem requirements, travel instructions, and reporting times.
- Send dispatch confirmations and ensure the field team receives roster details.
- Confirm employees understand jobsite expectations, PPE requirements, and travel/weather conditions.
- Communicate required pre-employment steps: orientations, MSHA/OSHA, site-specific training, drug tests, background checks, certifications, etc.
- Ensure candidates know what to bring, where to report, and how to complete required steps.
- Notify the Recruiting Admin / Safety Support staff when documentation needs upload or review.
- Maintain professional, consistent communication with applicants throughout the process.
- Address questions regarding pay, schedules, project durations, and policies (while escalating to senior recruiters when necessary).
- Support retention by ensuring candidates feel informed, valued, and prepared.
- Work closely with Senior Recruiters/ Recruiters on large mobilizations and outage staffing.
- Communicate gaps in the pipeline or urgent needs for sourcing.
- Assist with weekly recruiting reports, staffing forecasts, and jobsite readiness updates.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience as a staffing/recruiting professional
- Experience with staffing Industrial Construction projects preferred
- Candidate must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while reprioritizing workload and switching between tasks as needed. This requires excellent organizational skills, time-management, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Resourceful with the ability to learn new tasks easily
- Strong computer background, including proficiency with MS Office / Excel and data entry
- Ability to work with employees of diverse backgrounds and experiences
Ability to communicate effective (verbally and written) in English is required. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred - This is not a remote position. Employees are required to work on-site
