Job Summary

Perform janitorial duties at Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), including cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming assigned areas, high and low dusting, and emptying trash. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Primary Duties
  • Perform janitorial duties at HAFB on a daily basis per schedule, including cleaning restrooms, dusting, floor work, mopping, and collecting trash.
  • Maintain the janitorial storage room in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure all supplies are stored and used in sequence, ordering replacement supplies as needed.
  • Assist with driving for vehicle drops for maintenance, supplies, or personnel needing to be transported to a site.
  • Disinfect PARC vans at the end of shift.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Pick up litter outside of the PARC building.
  • May drive a PARC van to transport other workers to cleaning sites.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to perform work‑related travel. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record if driving a PARC van.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to recognize and read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words.
  • Ability to understand and carry out one or two‑step instructions and follow visual cues.
  • Ability to work in a team setting or independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to stay on task and complete assigned duties within a scheduled time frame.
Supervision Received

The incumbent normally receives little instruction on day‑to‑day work and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; bend and stoop; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; occasionally kneel and sit. The employee may regularly lift or move products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work

Environment

The work environment includes indoor buildings and occasional exposure to weather when walking between sites. Noise levels are usually quiet, except on the flight line which can be moderate.
