CNC Machine Programmer

Janicki Industries is a private and family-owned business based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah, facility. The Layton Utah facility specializes in machining the largest, most complex structures built from carbon fiber composites and aluminum for the aerospace and space exploration markets. The NC Programmer plans machining sequences and fixturing for 3‑5 axis machine tools.

• Determine methods, cutter types, and cutting parameters depending on a variety of materials (composites, epoxies, steel, aluminum, etc.) and design specifications.
• Design 3‑D computer models, drawings, and specifications for fabrication of fixturing elements.
• Create 3‑5 axis tool paths utilizing Unigraphics CAD/CAM software, preferably Siemens NX.
• Provide input in production tracking software.
• Work with process engineers on planning of manufacturing processes to ensure that quality and design objectives are achieved.
• Create shop documentation for machine setup, complying with ISO 9001 standards.
• Analyze laser‑tracking data to assure quality of the setup, when applicable.
• Work with machinists to ensure setup and machining procedures are followed.
• Perform tool path verification using Vericut software.
• Have general knowledge of standard G‑Code language, machine offsets, and part location.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, waterjets, and band saws (CNC and manual).
• Perform composite and metallic machining.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and work orders.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.) accurately and work to tight tolerances.
• Visually inspect and deburr parts. Attention to detail and quality is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

• High School diploma or GED required; college level or trade school education preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in a related field may substitute for education.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Wage range $27 – $58 per hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees may also receive additional pay for off‑shifts, off‑site work, and access pay. The range is an estimate of base compensation; the actual amount offered will be based on experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
