Sander/Seal Sander

Out of the Woods Custom Cabinetry is looking for a Sander / Seal Sander to join our Cabinet Shop in Layton, Utah. In this role, you'll sand wood products to a smooth finish and apply sanding sealer while helping produce high-quality custom cabinetry. If you enjoy hands-on work, have an eye for detail, and take pride in quality craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: $15.00-$18.00/hour DOE

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-3:30 PM | Friday 6:00 AM-11:00 AM

What You'll Do
  • Sand wood products to achieve a smooth, consistent finish
  • Apply sanding sealer to wood products according to company standards
  • Follow all quality and safety procedures, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality standards
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
  • Maintain sanding equipment and tools in safe working condition
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready
  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns to management immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience operating shop machinery preferred
  • Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and measurements
  • Basic understanding of woodworking tools, equipment, and shop practices preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in other areas of the shop
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a warehouse and woodworking shop environment
  • Regular standing for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling materials
  • Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to wood dust, sanding equipment, machinery, and production noise
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including closed-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection
