Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description

You will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the medical management of the Center Physician. This role requires a commitment to customer service and quality, familiarity with regulations in the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment, and support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) at the center level.

Determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Provide medical support and ensure compliance with SOPs. Coordinate with Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate‑equivalent nursing education with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Location: Layton, UT, USA

Hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44
