Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services. Supports plasma center operations and reports to the Plasma Center Manager.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary to provide the results of unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent; may include a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completed FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationHourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
