Registered Nurse – Children’s Justice Center

Location:

Uintah, Utah, United States

Hours:

4 hours per week as needed, on-call with an arrival requirement within one hour of being called.

Compensation: $35.22 – $53.29 per hour, based on experience.

Job Overview

Registered Nurses at Intermountain Healthcare provide patient‑centered and trauma‑informed care for children referred to the Children’s Justice Center. Nurses support medical examinations, assist with evidence collection, and work closely with advanced practice providers and the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient evaluations and medical examinations for child protection cases.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers, the Primary Children’s medical team, and the Children’s Justice Center multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Provide compassionate, trauma‑informed support to children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse or medical neglect.
  • Support evidence collection procedures during examinations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and evidence.
  • Perform essential nursing duties and respond to acute or emergent situations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice (Utah).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Valid compact licenses transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of RN experience.
  • Pediatric RN experience.
  • Accredited BSN program background.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see, read information, labels, assess patient needs, and operate monitors.
  • Strong verbal communication and hearing ability, especially in emergency contexts.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment and perform frequent computer use and typing.
  • Capable of lifting and transferring patients, bending, and carrying supplies up to heavy weights.
  • Ability to walk, transport patients, push/pull gurneys, and navigate busy rooms.
  • Able to stand stationary for extended periods.
  • Eligible to drive a vehicle, with necessary visual and reading skills.

Vernal, Utah (Uintah, Daggett, and Roosevelt County areas).
