Position: Delivery Driver(07520) - Layton, Utah

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
  • Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
  • Have navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings.
General

Job Duties
  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Training
  • Orientation and on‑the‑job training.
  • Communication skills: comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions & Skills
  • Perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
  • Make correct monetary change.
  • Use verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Coordinate motor skills between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Navigate maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work Conditions:
Exposure to
  • Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
  • In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas.
  • Sudden changes in temperature in the work area and while outside.
  • Fumes from food odors.
  • Exposure to cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters, including walk‑in cooler.
  • Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing

Talking and hearing on telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces; far vision and night vision for driving.

Temperaments

The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing: Perform most tasks from a standing position on surfaces such as ceramic tile or linoleum; work surfaces are 36‑48 inches high.
  • Walking: For short distances and durations; deliver personnel must travel between the store and delivery vehicle and from the delivery vehicle to the customer’s location.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Bulk product deliveries (cases of ingredients and supplies up to 50 pounds) are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck; cases are lifted from the floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 inches high.
  • Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lb), and trays of pizza dough (≈12 lb each) are carried from workstations to storage or during delivery.
  • Pushing: Move trays placed on dollies (24‑30 in tall; up to 7.5 lb force).
  • Climbing: Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder; during delivery navigation of five or more flights of stairs may be required.
Additional Information
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station and the front counter; duration is 30‑45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously during the day.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasional stock‑shelf and low‑area cleaning.
  • Reaching: Continuously up, down, and forward; occasionally above 72 inches to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on signs, and lift objects; reaching down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes; forward reaching for toppings and cleaning or answering phones.
  • Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area; a team member may make several deliveries per shift.
  • Hand Tasks: Continuous eye‑hand coordination; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, manipulating pizza peel, using a rolling cutter, pinching in box assembly, and grasping cans, phone, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
  • Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids: Utilize pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
