Librarian creates a dynamic program establishing the library as a central element of the school, positively impacting student achievement, learning, literacy, and school culture. The librarian supports best instructional practices and curriculum standards through the integration of resources and opportunities.

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Texas teaching certificate
• Valid Texas school librarian certificate or learning resources certificate or endorsement

• Effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in working with media/computer technologies
• Strong organizational skills

• Minimum of 5 years experience teaching in a public school setting preferred

• Information Literacy:
  The librarian offers information literacy instruction that enables stakeholders to efficiently locate, accurately evaluate, ethically use, and clearly communicate information in various formats.
  • Librarian provides the opportunity for learners and educators to access, apply, and evaluate print and digital resources for their inquiry, academic, and personal needs.
  • Librarian practices and models the ethical and legal gathering and use of information, technology, and media.
  • Librarian includes opportunities for collaboration among members of the learning community.

• Inquiry:
  The librarian provides access to information and programs for inquiry-based learning as well as support for both student and professional learning.

• Reading:
