Life Skills Coach/Career Advisor, Youth Development
- On-site in Houston, TX at Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus locations (relocation assistance available)
- $100,000 annual salary paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
The greatest support you can offer a student who reached 99% of their target is to never accept it as complete. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this position won't suit you. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates your confidence in a student's ability to succeed, continue reading.
Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in roughly two hours using adaptive technology. No traditional lectures. No physical textbooks.
Your role centers on what technology cannot replicate: developing life competencies in Pre-K through 8th grade students—skills like public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll spend half your time facilitating interactive workshops guided by structured frameworks and narrative techniques. The remaining time involves one-on-one or small-group sessions where you examine student progress through adaptive learning platforms via Coachbot analytics, challenging them to achieve 100% of their weekly objectives.
Mastery is demonstrated through Test2
Pass evaluations, not attendance or effort-based grades.
During your first year, you'll manage a student cohort while mastering Alpha's methodology: life competency workshops, motivational coaching, and mastery-validated assessments. When you consistently hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible—a position where you mentor fellow Guides while remaining directly engaged with students. High performers in this role don't merely transform individual trajectories;
they influence entire campus cultures.
If you've invested years coaching, counseling, or guiding young people while longing to eliminate traditional instruction and concentrate purely on their personal development, this opportunity is for you.
What You Will Be Doing- Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops for Pre-K–8 students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and constructive feedback practices (experiential and project-oriented)
- Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions to review student advancement in adaptive learning platforms (utilizing Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and challenge students to reach 100% of their weekly benchmarks
- Overseeing and assessing Test2
Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than simple participation - Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse developmental stages, from Pre-K learners requiring energetic, movement-based engagement to 8th graders needing direct conversation and responsibility
- Cultivating authentic connections with each student so they develop sufficient trust to accept guidance through obstacles, distraction, and uncertainty
- Providing lectures or conventional academic content delivery (students acquire core subjects through adaptive technology, not instructor-led lessons)
- Creating lesson plans or educational content from the ground up (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is executing them with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
- Handling parent communication or administrative school functions (Campus Leads manage these areas; your attention remains on students)
- Evaluating assignments or preparing students for standardized examinations (these elements don't exist in this environment)
- Operating independently (you function within a campus team alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)
Key Responsibilities
Guarantee that every student within your cohort develops enthusiasm for learning, achieves mastery of critical life competencies, and reaches 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.
