Associated Credit Union of Texas is proud to be recognized again as a 2025 Top Workplace! We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Controller to lead the accounting operations of our growing organization.
This is more than a traditional accounting role — it’s an opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen financial integrity, and partner closely with executive leadership to drive sound decision‑making across the credit union.
What You’ll Do- Lead and develop the accounting and finance team
- Oversee the month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal/state credit union regulations
- Certify and oversee quarterly Call Reports
- Partner with auditors and examiners during annual reviews
- Assist with ALM reviews, CECL processes, liquidity management, and investment oversight
- Support budgeting, board reporting, and ALCO reporting
- Oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsli>
- Monitor profitability reporting, including indirect lending and branch/product performance
- Serve as backup for managing the investment portfolio
This role requires strong leadership, executive‑level communication skills, and the ability to influence outcomes through collaboration across departments.
What We’re Looking For Education & Credentials- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA or MBA preferred
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Prior leadership experience overseeing accounting teams
- Experience with in financial institutions or credit unions preferred
- Executive‑level communication skills
- Strategic thinking and vision
- Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities
- Ability to “make things happen” through leadership and influence
- High integrity and commitment to compliance
