The Chief Inspector is the senior functional leader for fixed equipment inspection across the INEOS O&P USA organization. The role designs, implements, and assures inspection programs that protect the mechanical integrity of piping, pressure vessels, and storage tanks across more than $15B in replacement value assets. It provides technical leadership, standardization, and continuous improvement for all site‑based inspectors and RBI analysts, ensuring alignment with emerging industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Own enterprise‑wide inspection program management for API 510, 570, and 653.
• Define and maintain RBI methodology application, including damage mechanism reviews, planning, and corrective action management.
• Continuously optimize programs so the enterprise inspects the right equipment at the right intervals, focusing resources on highest‑risk areas and eliminating low‑value activity.
• Ensure programs align with API codes, ASME standards, corporate integrity expectations, and the Operations Management System.
• Drive standardization of planning, documentation, and reporting across all sites.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to site‑based inspection leads for consistent program execution.
• Engage regularly with site teams to assess program health, resolve challenges, and drive consistent execution.
• Lead or participate in internal audits to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Calibrate site leads on enterprise expectations, risk tolerance, and decision‑making practices.

• Lead the inspector role group, defining expectations from field inspectors to site leads.
• Establish competency, performance, and professional development standards.
• Develop a structured development framework with progression pathways and training requirements.
• Assess site‑based personnel capability and identify targeted development needs.
• Champion a culture of continuous professional growth and technical excellence.

• Tailor inspection programs to reflect different risk profiles across manufacturing, utilities, pipeline, and storage assets.
• Ensure RBI intervals and corrective action plans are defensible and based on current asset data.
• Collaborate with Corrosion & Materials Engineering and Fixed Equipment Specialists to align strategies with degradation threats and capital priorities.
• Coach teams through damage‑mechanism‑based decision making.
• Monitor industry trends, NDE advances, and emerging damage mechanisms to update strategies proactively.

• Maintain relationships with inspection service providers and NDE contractors, setting clear quality and data expectations.
• Lead technical review and endorsement of new vendors, technologies, or methods.
• Participate in vendor qualification and performance evaluation processes with focus on NDE quality and reporting reliability.
• Ensure third‑party work aligns with enterprise standards and is integrated into site records.
• Partner with Procurement to shape vendor strategies and pursue consolidation where beneficial.

• Support turnaround scope development aligned with RBI priorities and asset care strategies.
• Provide technical oversight for execution, including NDE methods, FFS evaluations, and quality assurance.
• Endorse turnaround scope from a risk‑based perspective and communicate residual risk.
• Document and integrate findings into RBI updates and asset care plans.
• Influence $175MM+ annual spend through risk‑based scope selection and execution quality.

• Develop and maintain enterprise KPIs for inspection program execution and vendor performance.
• Track incidents, gaps, and near‑misses; lead investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Integrate lessons from incidents, turnarounds, audits, and benchmarking to advance program maturity.
