Commercial Rebar Project Manager

Overview

Suncoast Post Tension, Ltd. is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company with over 30 years in business. We supply construction related materials to builders from nine facilities in the US.

Rebar Detailer / Project Manager is responsible for producing accurate rebar detailing and fabrication documents while managing all project deliverables for concrete reinforcing steel projects. This role oversees projects from award through closeout, ensuring rebar is detailed, fabricated, delivered, and installed in accordance with structural specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Rebar

CAD with hands-on project management experience in concrete reinforcing operations.

• Manage all project deliverables from pre-construction through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Manage cost control, supply and administration of various size concrete reinforcing projects to customers, using AutoCAD and Rebar
  
  CAD for detailing and fabrication per structural specifications
• Identify risks and proactively resolve issues related to scope, schedule, constructability, or field coordination delays
• Utilize tools to detail smaller projects in-house (generally < 50 tons)
• Import orders into the Electronic Operating System and coordinate fabrication and delivery requirements based on approved rebar shop drawings
• Review and highlight cost-saving opportunities by analyzing project documentation and coordinating with Operations
• Provide excellent customer service to facilitate the Project Management role on a daily basis
• Prepare and cost small estimates for smaller projects and provide project weights/requirements to Sales for quotes
• Coordinate and cost control of specialized vendor products, including checking and approving vendor invoices
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in rebar project management
• Familiar with ACI 318 concrete reinforcing standards
• Minimum 5 years of detailing experience using AutoCAD and RebarCAD
• Experience with programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, I SqFt, or similar preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous personnel management experience is an advantage but not required
• Ability to recognize and provide solutions to customer-related construction issues using industry products
• Solid knowledge of basic mathematical principles
• Experience with lump-sum job reconciliations and dispute resolution
• Ability to manage workload with changing priorities while meeting project deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

• Must occasionally lift/move up to 50-75 pounds
• Frequently sit or stand for long periods and walk distances; stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Regularly communicate verbally and aurally
• Manual dexterity to handle, reach, and manipulate objects
• Must be able to work in fumes and odors (non-hazardous)
• Must be able to work in loud areas and wear hearing protection
• Must be able to work with oils, grease and dust, with limited PPE (aprons, gloves, etc.)

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 DOE

Actual salary will be based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographic location, or other factors permitted by law
