Job Description We Are Recruiting for a Virtual Designer (VD2) – Electrical Construction | Austin / Leander, TX
We are recruiting for an experienced Virtual Designer (VD2) to join a growing electrical construction team in the Austin / Leander area. This is a hybrid opportunity – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week – supporting complex commercial and large-scale electrical construction projects.
What You'll Do- Build detailed 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks
- Produce electrical shop drawings for construction and installation
- Perform BIM coordination, clash detection, and resolution
- Coordinate with General Contractors, field teams, and MEP trade partners
- Support BIM coordination through final model sign-off
- Produce bills of materials for procurement and labor tracking
- Mentor and support junior Detailers
- 2–5+ years of CAD/BIM experience in commercial construction
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit
- Experience with Navisworks
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Electrical construction experience is highly preferred
- NEC knowledge or electrical field experience is a plus
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
