Responsibilities- Runs fire alarm wire to NFPA standards. Lifting, performing repetitive motions, using hand tools, and working in all types of weather are demands of this position.
- Responsible for the connection of fire alarm panels, power supplies, and wire concealment.
- Completes all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements, including installation of all fire alarm devices.
- Troubleshoots fire alarm system installations to ensure they function properly and comply with local, county, state, and federal codes and any licensing or insurance requirements.
- Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager.
- Be able to do JHA and daily reports.
- Must have a Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL).
- Able to install and service many different fire alarm manufacturers.
- High School Diploma or commensurate experience.
- Two years’ experience in the installation of fire alarm systems preferred.
- PC Proficient.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass drug and background screens.
The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and the ability to lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds;
pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
