Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Overview

Now hiring an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to work on the following types of equipment:
Dozers, motor graders, wheel loaders, excavators, rollers, skid steers, and more. Komatsu, John Deere, Cat, Volvo, and more. Onsite repair work in company service truck and repairs k in Greater Austin area, home every night.

• Must be able to diagnose basic electrical, basic hydraulic and minor engine problems, source parts from local dealers and repair.
• Must have valid driver license.
• At least 1-2 years of experience working on construction equipment.
• Must be dependable and trustworthy.
• Understand the importance of time management.
• Ability to read and comprehend the standard operating procedures, owner’s manuals.
• Ability to operate large, heavy machinery.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Must have a positive "can do" outlook.
• Ability to write up repair orders and keep detailed notes.
• Have your own hand tools.
• Ability to follow and have an understanding of safety procedures and policies.

• Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive and resourceful and be coachable.
• Possess an upbeat, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Be a great self-starter with a sense of urgency.
• Proficiency to multi-task, follow-thru and follow-up.
• Excellent Communication/interpersonal skills.
• Confident, self-starter who works well independently.

• Diagnose equipment issues and malfunctions.
• Wash equipment and clean belly pans.
• Assist senior mechanic with large/heavy tasks.
• Change out tire/wheel assemblies.
• Perform machine inspections and write ups.

• Salary Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
• Hourly base salary based on experience
