An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Science department within St Andrew's Catholic School. The Science Department are an ambitious team of teachers and technicians who provide inspirational teaching, support and guidance across Science and all disciplines within it. We have recently had all 13 of our Labs and the technician's room refurbished. The success of the department and the enthusiasm students have toward Science has led to the subject's growing team with an increasing number of students opting for Chemistry, Physics and Biology at A Level.

About 40% of students study Separate Sciences at GCSE with the rest studying the Trilogy paper worth 2 GCSEs. All the sciences are very popular at A Level where in addition to Chemistry, Physics and Biology there is an option to study a BTEC in Applied Science.

Science is a very successful subject at GCSE and A Level with 95% of students achieving a grade 9-4 at GCSE and 96% achieving A-C at A Level in all three sciences for the past few years. We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher who is a passionate and dedicated individual. The post would suit an ECT where they would be offered excellent support at the start of their career or a more experienced teacher looking to join an outstanding team.
