Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're partnered with an EPC looking to appoint a VP of Contracts to lead contracts across a portfolio of major renewable energy projects.
This is a construction/EPC contracts role, not a supply-chain or procurement contracts position.
The ideal candidate's background will be predominantly from the construction/project delivery side of contracting. Supply chain, procurement or operations contracting experience alone is not the target background for this role. The focus is on candidates who understand the contractual risks associated with executing major construction projects.
Responsibilities- Lead the contracts function across major U.S. EPC projects.
- Provide contractual and commercial leadership from pre-award through project closeout.
- Negotiate EPC, subcontract, client and commercial agreements.
- Work closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, Construction and Engineering teams.
- Manage contractual and commercial risk across projects.
- Oversee change orders, variations, claims, disputes, notices and entitlement.
- Manage contractual exposure relating to schedule, delays, liquidated damages, scope and performance.
- Support project teams with complex contractual issues during construction.
- Establish and improve contracts processes, governance and best practices.
- Support senior leadership with major commercial negotiations.
- Lead, develop and mentor the contracts team.
- Significant contracts experience within major construction and/or EPC environments.
- Strong experience with construction project delivery and contractual risk.
- Experience negotiating major EPC and construction contracts.
- Strong background in subcontractor agreements and management.
- Experience managing claims, disputes, change orders and variations.
- Understanding of schedule, delay, liquidated damages and entitlement.
- Experience working directly with Project Management and Construction teams.
- Proven leadership experience managing contracts professionals.
- Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
