POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Safety Graduate Assistant (GA) position is responsible for encouraging a positive environment for all community members, providing coverage, and supporting essential functions of the Public Safety Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Serves as a role model to students and student staff

* Assist with Public Safety Department projects and programming

* Provide administrative support to Public Safety Department

* Provide Aid and support to community and staff members

* Collaborates with various university personnel and offices

* Participates, as appropriate, in college-wide committees

* Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Saint Mary

* Prior experience organizing co-curricular activities and crisis intervention is preferred

* Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals

* Effective interpersonal and communication skills;

* Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

* Must be self-starter - able to work with minimal direction/supervision and should possess and demonstrate initiative

* Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

* Must be able to pass required background screening

* Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
