Company Description

Codeyoung offers coding courses for learners ages 5 to 17, focusing on a highly hands-on curriculum with clear, measurable learning goals. Codeyoung aims to create a supportive environment where young learners can build practical coding skills while enjoying the learning process.

Role Description

The teacher will monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Additional tasks may include collaborating with the teaching team to refine lesson plans and participating in training sessions to stay current with educational best practices and coding tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or teenagers in an educational, tutoring, or mentoring capacity.
  • Strong classroom management and facilitation skills, with the ability to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics in simple, age-appropriate language.
  • Comfort with common educational and coding tools (e.g., Scratch, basic Python or JavaScript, learning management systems) or willingness to learn them quickly.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices.
  • Organizational skills for preparing lessons, tracking progress, and managing multiple students and activities.
  • Preferred:
Coursework or degree in Computer Science, Education, STEM field, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
