Position Description

Summary:

The Military Banking Center Manager I is responsible for the overall business operations of an assigned banking center. They manage a profitable banking center by supervising their team to generate sales, promote bank products to qualified clients, and uphold ethical oversight of bank operations while adhering to all procedures. The role includes expense control, staffing, and fostering a positive work environment to provide superior client experiences and associate engagement.

Typically, the manager is assigned to a banking center with fewer than 500 demand deposit accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Measures and manages sales at the assigned location based on daily, weekly and monthly budgeted goals.
  • Markets bank products to target clients inside and outside the banking center, contacting potential clients, businesses and community/civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business; explaining appropriate bank products to the target audience; interviewing clients to obtain information and explain available financial services; taking loan applications, quoting rates and closing loans with clients; cross‑selling new products that are relevant and beneficial to current bank clients.
  • Manages operator performance for direct reports handling client inquiries via live chat in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
  • Attends local functions and events primarily hosted by military groups located on the installation and supports business development efforts outside the gates by targeting companies that can refer business to Armed Forces Bank.
  • Identifies and pursues marketing opportunities around the installation.
  • Builds relationships with key decision makers and influencers at the installation, including, but not limited to, the Commander, Bank Liaison Officer, AAFES/NEX Management, MWR and entities that provide financial education initiatives in support of financial readiness.
  • Promotes banking center involvement in bank initiatives that support the Military Saves campaign and financial education, while building materials to support nominations by Command for Distinguished Bank of the Year for the installation.
  • Identifies opportunities for increasing consumer loan business with emphasis on mortgages, Home Equity Lines of Credit, consumer secured/unsecured loans and secured credit cards.
  • Manages multiple ATM locations in the market, ensuring they are clean, loaded, operational, and properly marketed.
  • Supervises banking center associates, including interviewing, hiring, coaching, scheduling, motivating, training, preparing and delivering performance evaluations, ensuring ethical behavior and adherence to all bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensures client experience is fast, easy and personal, consistent with company client service standards.
  • Implements banking center procedures, conducts audits, completes daily imaging, reviews transactions, and maintains security measures to limit risk and unauthorized access.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, handling hazardous conditions, maintenance, and compliance postings.
  • Ensures satisfactory outcomes of audits/reviews by Compliance, Internal Audit, Deposit Operations, and other departments or regulatory bodies.
  • Protects client and bank information confidentiality and trains associates on confidentiality policies.
  • Conducts regular meetings and provides frequent feedback to associates to develop them and offer a career path.
  • Understands, communicates, and instills the Company’s mission, vision, and values (Pillars of Success).
  • Completes monthly training in a timely manner to maintain knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Works at the worksite during regular business hours and/or assigned hours.
  • Performs other specified duties as assigned.

The Military Banking Center Manager I position offers a salary range of $60,000 to $64,000 depending on experience and includes monthly incentive compensation based on the attainment of established incentive goals.
