Position: Detective with Security Clearance
Duties
* As a Detective, you will perform the following duties:
* Provide investigation services for violations of Federal, state, county and DA statues, laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
* Conduct complete investigations of alleged criminal violations including theft, assault, shoplifting, child abuse, child neglect, adultery unlawful entry, juvenile misconduct or any other types of criminal violations.
* Take statements from victims, analyze facts to develop case information, maintain integrity of information or evidence for prosecution.
* Responsible for the proper documentary control of the safe and secure storage of all evidence obtained during investigations, raids, etc.
* Identify suspects and develop case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspects to trial. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This position requires a Tier 3 Secret background investigation.
* Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy within one year of hire date, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
* Successfully graduated from the USAMPS Military Police Investigator Course or complete within one year of hire date.
* Must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification related to law enforcement work functions to include, but not limited to: weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System requirements
* Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56:

---Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical / psychiatric evaluation.
* Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter. Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
* This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
* The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
* Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
* TDY travel is occasionally required.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;

philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience which includes (1) applying law enforcement investigative procedures and methods to collect and preserve crime scene evidence, (2) interviewing suspects/witnesses/victims of crimes AND (3) analyzing facts to identify suspects or develop case information. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
