Our agency is led by Secretary Janet Stanek, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Dec 2021. KDHE is comprised of three divisions:
Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, Kan Care). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well-being of all Kansans.

• Hourly Pay Range: $22.94 - $24.47
• Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

The position (K0247854)

Coordinates WIC program education, outreach, and communication activities between the State Agency, local agencies, vendors, community partners, participants, and internal program staff. Works with WIC leadership, program units, and the bureau communications liaison to gather, organize, review, and prepare communications related to policy updates, program operations, deadlines, training opportunities, vendor information, participant education, program integrity, and other WIC activities. Supports consistent, accurate, clear, and accessible messaging through established communication review processes.

Supports WIC program integrity activities related to certification policies and procedures, dual participation, separation of duties, and prevention of participant or staff fraud and abuse. Reviews program integrity information and assists with identifying trends, risks, and communication or training needs. Coordinates with state staff, local agencies, and border state WIC programs as assigned to support prevention and resolution of dual participation and related program integrity concerns.

Provides technical assistance and training to local and state staff regarding program integrity requirements, procedures, and corrective actions.

Participates in the preparation and maintenance of educational, instructional, outreach, program integrity, and procedural materials used to support WIC program operations. Develops, updates, and organizes templates, guidance documents, frequently asked questions, talking points, newsletters, website content, local agency updates, vendor notices, participant-facing materials, and other resources as assigned.
