Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Level I / II / III) to support the development, improvement, and optimization of manufacturing processes in an aerospace/precision machining environment. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Programming teams to ensure efficient production, high-quality standards, and on-time delivery.
This position is open to candidates with varying levels of experience. The level will be determined based on qualifications, technical expertise, and relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
This is a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering role, not a Program Manager position
. We are looking for an engineer who enjoys working with individual parts, manufacturing processes, tooling, and CNC machining operations.
- Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models to ensure manufacturability.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation and revision-controlled manufacturing data.
- Support CNC machining operations by resolving manufacturing and production issues.
- Design and improve tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Programming, Quality, and Production teams to improve efficiency and quality.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through production.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements, including ITAR where applicable.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as appropriate for experience level.
Level I
- 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, aircraft, or machine shop environments (or Engineering Document Control).
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Exposure to CAD software, manufacturing processes, or engineering documentation preferred.
- 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Experience with CNC machining processes, production workflows, manufacturing routings, and work instructions.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing process improvements.
- 6+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
- Advanced expertise in CNC machining, tooling, process optimization, and manufacturability.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), and mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, aircraft, or precision machining environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Experience with ERP systems (Job Boss or similar) preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods on the production floor.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with CAD software such as Solid Works, CATIA, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing and ITAR-regulated environments.
