The Federal Work Study (FWS) program is intended to provide a meaningful job experience, with direct supervision, that complements and reinforces the recipient's educational program and/or career goals. Outcomes from the Federal Work Study program include:

DEPARTMENT: Campus Ministry
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize carpool forSoup Kitchenonthethird Thursday ofeverymonth(weneedatleast8 volunteers from 4pm-6:30pm).
- Communicatewithlocal Leavenworthnonprofitsonwaysourstudentscanhelpservethecommunity.
Planand promote service activities for our students (at least one a month). Maintain the Community Service Calendar. - Organizeandlead fundraisers for
Mission Trips,Feedthe Need,Spiro'sCloset,etc. - Anyothertaskstohelpsupportthe Campus Ministry Departmentandlocalcommunity
- Putawayandsortnewdonations
- Donateanyclothingthat donot fitwithourneedstolocalcharities
- Hanguporrefoldanyclothesthatneedtobestraightenedout
- Checkthefoodandseewhatweneedtobuy(makealist)
- Contactlocalfoodpantriesaboutteamingupwithfoodfor Spiro'sCloset
- Organize and Prepare the Kitchen for Community use :
- Makesurealldishesaredoneandput away
- The Microwavesarecleanandreadytobeusedbythecommunity
- Allcounterspacesareclearedanddisinfectedforcommunityuse
- Makesurethefridgeiscleanandthrowoutanyoldfood
- Post upcoming activitiesandeventstothe community
- Postpositivecommentsandpoststoupliftthecommunity
- Takedownoldposts,organize,andcreateafundisplaycaseeverycoupleofweeksforthecommunityto see
- Takedownoldposts,organize,andcreateafunbulletinboarddisplayseverycoupleofweeks forthe community to see
- Helpfindvolunteerstohelpwith Masspartsweekly
- Complete the Federal Work Study orientation .
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study and enrolled full time at the University of Saint Mary
- Openness toward religious experiences.
