POSITION:Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Council on Aging
SALARY: $25.00 per hour

ACCOUNTABILITIES
50% Coordinates Friendly Visitor Program
35% Telephones and conducts in-home visits for a caseload of up to 36 older adults
10% Serves as a certified SHICK counselor and assists older adults with information for insurance decision-making.
5% All other duties as assigned
SCOPE OF WORK:Under the general supervision of the Social Work & Support Services Coordinator, the Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator interviews, selects, trains, and monitors volunteers; assesses potential participant’s appropriateness for the program, and matches and monitors all volunteer matches. In addition, this position executes the OAA Title IIIB Telephone and Visitation program and tracks grant data regarding client interactions. The Friendly Visitor Program Coordinator promotes senior services and provides information to seniors about issues concerning their wellbeing, applicable program and benefits andserves as a Senior Health Insurance Counselor of Kansas (SHICK) to provide counseling during Medicare open enrollment.
