PositionSummary
Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth is seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting the Sisters. This critical role assists in creating and managing nursing care plans and will participate in evaluating the Sisters’ current and future medical needs.

- 3 shifts a week; 12-hour shifts 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

- Low resident (Sisters only!) to staff ratio.
- $19.00 per hour plus shift differential ($0.85 to $4.25/hour).

- Provide basic patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding Sisters.
- Help Sisters with mobility issues, such as transferring to and from bed or wheelchair, and assist with exercise routines as directed by the nursing staff.
- Monitor vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist Sister with activities of daily living, such as toileting and hygiene needs.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families and communicate patient concerns or issues to the nursing staff.
- Document appropriate activities of daily living in the electronic medical records.
- Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing and use of personal protective equipment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings, reporting Sister status and any concerns or observations.
- Assist with Sister transportation and movement, including transferring patients between beds and wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice, including maintaining Sister confidentiality and demonstrating a compassionate, caring attitude.
- Passing fresh water to Sisters’ rooms and encourages hydration.
- Assist with carrying out daily living activities.
- Accompany Sisters to Chapel for prayers.
- Passes snacks and follows dietician’s recommendations.
- Occasionally accompany Sisters to doctor’s appointments.
- Assuring the physical comfort and mental well-being of Sisters.
- Assist in customary daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment such as bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, responding to calls, etc.
- Detecting/correcting situations that have a high probability of causing accidents/injuries to Sisters.
- Observing and reporting symptoms, reactions, and changes.
- Encouraging and participating in rehabilitative measures.
- Helps keep Sisters’ rooms neat and clean.
