Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Room patients efficiently and accurately, ensuring all necessary information is collected prior to physician or provider evaluation.
• Collect urine drug screens (UDS) following clinic protocols to ensure proper chain of custody and accurate documentation.
• Educate patients on prescribed medications, treatment plans, and physician‑ordered instructions, ensuring patient understanding and adherence.
• Input TPI orders for the clinic and track progress, ensuring all orders are submitted correctly and in a timely manner.
• Follow up on authorizations, communicating with payors or external entities to secure approval for treatments and procedures.
• Process outgoing referrals, coordinating with specialty offices and ensuring proper documentation and communication with patients.
• Reschedule patient appointments for follow‑ups with Nurse Practitioners (NPs) as needed, maintaining accuracy and patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Always maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.

Experience

Required:

• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Experience with EHR systems

Environmental and

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to read and speak English fluently.
• Cognitive skills for math, reading, computer skills, and communication skills to interact effectively with the public and peers.
• Vision requirements: near, mid‑range, far, and accommodation.
• Hearing requirements: low, medium, and high‑pitch sounds.
• Minimal up and down activity may be required.
• Job risks include exposure to computers for 6-7 hours per day with typing activities.
