Maintenance Technician
Performs a variety of skilled construction and trades-related duties, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing university facilities and infrastructure. Applies expertise across multiple trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general construction to support renovation, installation, and repair projects. Serves as a project lead within the department, coordinating construction activities and acting as a technical resource for other Maintenance Technicians due to advanced trades knowledge and experience.
Essential functions include:
- Performs various skilled construction and multi-skilled trades technician duties to include but not limited to carpentry, working with a variety of tools, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
- May drive a university vehicle to perform duties
- Performs routine cleanup at work sites or in shop areas
- May assist in general grounds work and snow removal
- Subject to on-call duty
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements include:
- High school diploma/GED
- 3 years related experience preferred
- Previous project lead experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to successfully pass a required background screening
