As a Psychiatrist at Core Civic, you'll do more than prescribe and diagnose. You'll guide a team, mentor staff, and help shape policy. You'll provide direct care, participate in civil commitment proceedings, and ensure that every patient receives the dignity and attention they deserve. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct DSM diagnoses, prescribe, and monitor psychotropic medications.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling for inmates/residents.
Lead and supervise mental health services, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Participate in civil commitment proceedings and discharge planning.
Oversee operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in mental health programs.
Coordinate crisis management and participate in anti-terrorism planning.
Support legal processes related to correctional psychiatry.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Must-Haves:

Education:

Advanced degree in Psychology or a related clinical field, with applicable certification/licensure.
Experience:

Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable position.
Licensing:
Must be a licensed/certified psychiatrist, or willing to obtain Kansas licensure.
Valid Driver's License:
Required.
