We are seeking a Senior Accountant - Lease Accounting to join a growing accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting lease accounting activities, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, technical accounting knowledge, and experience interpreting complex transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting under applicable accounting standards.
This position will prepare and review journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, analyze financial results, and support reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with various business partners, assist with system and process enhancements, and contribute to special projects that impact accounting operations. This role also provides guidance and review support for junior accounting team members.

Responsibilities
+ Support lease accounting activities and ensure transactions are accounted for in accordance with applicable accounting guidance, including ASC 842.
+ Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
+ Participate in the monthly and quarterly close process, including financial analysis and variance reporting.
+ Analyze financial results and identify trends, unusual activity, and opportunities for process improvements.
+ Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business changes and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
+ Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of accounting processes, controls, and reporting tools.
+ Review and provide feedback on deliverables prepared by other accounting team members.
+ Support internal and external audit requests and other compliance-related activities.
+ Analyze and organize large data sets to support reporting, reconciliations, and business decisions.
+ Assist with cross-functional projects, system implementations, and operational initiatives.
+ Document accounting processes and evaluate the impact of business and system changes on financial reporting.
+ Contribute to the development of scalable and efficient accounting practices.
+ Perform additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
+ Public accounting experience and/or corporate accounting experience preferred.
+ Strong background in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
+
Experience with lease accounting and ASC 842.
+ Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
+ Experience working with ERP systems and large-volume transactional data.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to communicate accounting concepts and financial results effectively to various audiences.
+ Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
+ CPA certification or progress toward certification.
+
Experience with major ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar systems.
+ Prior experience supporting audit and compliance activities.
+ Exposure to operational or inventory-related accounting environments.
+ Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
+ Strong attention to detail and the ability to balance technical accounting requirements with broader business objectives.

This is a Permanent position based out of Leawood, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
Full T-Mobile benefits package including stock, 401k, health, vision and dental coverage, plus discounted cell phone plan.
