The Project Controls Analyst supports the planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and performance reporting of electrical substation and power delivery projects. This role works closely with project managers, construction managers, engineering teams, and finance to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
The Project Controls Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining accurate project forecasts, tracking KPIs, managing change control, and supporting executive reporting within an EPC or design-build environment.
Key Responsibilities Schedule Management- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
- Monitor schedule performance against baseline and identify potential delays.
- Support critical path analysis and recovery planning.
- Coordinate schedule updates with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Track project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts.
- Support monthly cost reporting and earned value analysis (EVM).
- Analyze cost variances and identify financial risks.
- Assist in developing Estimate at Completion (EAC) projections.
- Support evaluation and tracking of change orders and scope adjustments.
- Maintain change logs and assist with impact analysis on cost and schedule.
- Coordinate documentation between field teams and project management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project performance reports.
- Develop dashboards using Power BI, Excel, or similar tools.
- Track productivity metrics and key performance indicators.
- Identify schedule and cost risks and support mitigation strategies.
- Assist with maintaining risk registers and contingency tracking.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and client contract requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, or scheduling within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling software.
- Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
- Understanding of EPC or design-build project environments.
